Q: What is the AltEnergy Industry Directory (AEID)?

A: The level of activity in the large-scale renewable energy industry in Australia and New Zealand has increased rapidly in recent years and is now supporting tens of thousands of jobs across a wide range of sectors. The AEID gathers together all those industry contacts in one convenient, searchable online directory for people who are seeking specific suppliers, trades and services, and provides a platform for businesses to connect with other industry participants.


Q: What type of information will the AEID show?

Listing information includes: Name, Logo (with link to a website), Services provided (can be more than one category), Description of services/equipment (less than 100 words), Operating location, Project involvement, Website address, and Contact details (name, phone, email). There are more than 35 industry categories represented in the database across a wide spectrum of services, such as Environmental Consultants, Developers, Equipment Suppliers, EPC, Transport, Legal, Earthmoving, Finance, Employment, Catering and many more operating across Australia and New Zealand.

Q: Why should I list in the AEID?

A: The incredible growth in the large-scale renewable energy industry in Australia and New Zealand over the last few years has attracted a wide-range of industry participants. With so many organisations, old and new, now participating in the industry it can be difficult to keep track of what’s available in the industry and who’s providing it where. The AEID is a cost-effective, convenient promotional/marketing tool that allows your organisation to show its capabilities to other industry participants who are making project decisions or, alternatively, to find the skills and gear you need to progress your project.


Q: Who can see my AEID listing information?

A: The AEID will be accessible only to subscribed, paying subscribers, who presumably will have a strong interest in the industry. It will not accessible to the general public.


Q: Do I need to pay to list in the AEID?

A: No, your listing is free.


Q: How do I list in the AEID?

A secure online data form is available here for you to fill in the relevant information for your directory listing as shown in the sample above (it should only take a few minutes). We will vet your listing details and reply with a draft before publication.


Q: Can I modify/edit my AEID listing?

A: Yes we will provide contacts if you wish to update or edit your AEID entry at any time. We will also send out occasional reminders to confirm that your listing is up to date. You can also cancel your listing at any time.


Q: Do I need to pay to access the AEID?

A: Yes, you will need to pay to subscribe to the service and obtain a password for access. Subscriptions, which can be cancelled at any time, will cost AUD$9.50 per month for a single user including GST. 


Q: How secure is your payment system?

A: AltEnergy uses the Stripe online payment software platform for its billing, payment and invoicing. Stripe is used by 100,000+ businesses in 100+ countries across nearly every industry and has nine global offices and hundreds of people working for it. Its investors include Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and PayPal co-founders Peter Thiel, Max Levchin, and Elon Musk. Needless to say, Stripe utilises industry-leading security. More information is available from AltEnergy does not even see any of its subscribers’ credit card details, let alone store them. If paying by direct debit by arrangement the usual internet banking security systems apply. A tax invoice for every payment is provided.


Q: How secure are my personal details?

A: For a start, we keep the absolute minimal personal records of our subscribers. Only what is required to login and access our products, which is your name and email address. For those records we do need to store, we treat protecting your privacy very seriously and have a strict no sharing or disclosure policy to protect your personal details. It’s the same protocol one of the AltEnergy partners, Pex Publications (, has adopted since starting its energy publications subscription service in 1968. Q: Who is AltEnergy?

A: AltEnergy launched its large-scale renewable energy industry service in April 2018 and since that time has attracted more than 250 subscribers. AltEnergy is a joint venture between Pex Publications and Lennox Communications, and has a strong pedigree when it comes to producing news that is of strategic and economic value to its clients. Pex Publications has been producing subscriber-based energy news reports for almost 50 years. Under the ownership of businessman John Carr, Pex expanded to include pioneering renewable energy publication Renergy between 2003 – 2007, and ASX share research publication StockAnalysis. Lennox Communications’ principal Paul Sullivan has contributed research and writing services to Pex Publications since 2001, including editing Australia’s first dedicated renewable energy publication, Renergy.
